This program is designed for individuals who wish to improve their balance for walking and daily activities. LRAC physical therapist, Anne McCormick, DPT, will lead exercises for strengthening and stretching your core and lower body, paying particular attention to the muscles that are instrumental in correcting body position when we lose our balance.
Participants will stand and sit while using Swiss balls, balance pads, Bosu balls, resistance bands and ankle weights. Some exercises will focus on particular regions of the body, while others will involve whole body movements. The class will be held in our Barre Studio so that the railing can be used for hand support as needed and Anne will assist one-on-one when performing activities of greater difficulty and give guidance on modifications as needed.
Please note, participants must have sufficient balance and strength such that they do not require a walker or cane when walking.
